About Clarence Robert Tower, Artist, Author and Historian.

​

   As a lifelong resident of the California's Santa Clara Valley, my primary work as a Land Surveyor and engineer contributed significantly to the Valley's transition from a major agricultural center to its current identity as a place, now known worldwide as the Silicon Valley. Writing and artwork are my hobbies.

​

    I approach my writing with the deep-seated conviction that scenery and actions can be captured with words; as skillfully as an artist captures scenery on canvas. I recognize that a sense of rhythm is essential to easy reading. My ciurrent book, The Adventures of Zack Gentry, is my third major undertaking. My first, Seventy Years in the Silicon Valley, An Anecdotal History, was published in 2002. My second, the life story of an American sports legend, unfortunately lies on a shelf un-published, due to legal complications.

    Three pieces of my artwork are in the permanent collection of the San Jose History Museum. (The painting on the front cover is one of them.) I have been awarded the Grumbacher Medallion for painting excellence.
